Trojans, Choctaws to end second week with road scrimmages

For the second straight week, both the Dyer County Choctaws and Dyersburg Trojans will conclude their practice week with scrimmage away from their home schools. On Thursday, the Trojans will travel to Brownsville where they will scrimmage with Haywood at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, the Choctaws will make the trip to Dresden to square off with the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Due to the TSSAA's heat policy, the start times for both are currently tentative. Tomahawks dominate Ozark, Ala. to advance to Dixie Youth Pre-Majors World Series finals

The Dyer County Tomahawks are just two wins away from bringing home a Dixie Boys Pre-Majors World Series title as the boys from Tennessee pounded Ozark, Alabama 16-6 on Tuesday afternoon to secure their place in the finals from the consolation bracket in Guntersville, Ala.

Health Dept. hosts 'Big Latch On' event to promote breastfeeding

Trimble board appoints Lannom as town attorney

Wings over Halls Air Show is Aug. 13

Annual Duckfest event set for Saturday

The seventh annual Dyersburg Duckfest will be held at the Dyer County Fairgrounds this Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free public event is held in conjunction with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency's annual duck blind drawings for Tigrett WMA. The TWRA has held this drawing at the Dyer County Fairgrounds for many years.

Dyersburg police chief elected to SACOP position

On Friday, July 29 in Chattanooga, Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell was elected to the office of State Associations of Chiefs of Police. He was elected by his peers from other law enforcement agencies throughout the state and was sworn in by Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn.
