Travis Nunnery: the only man she ever loved

Private First Class Travis Edward Nunnery was just 21 when he married his sweetheart Betty Sue Roden. He was only 22 when he answered Uncle Sam’s call to go fight in Vietnam. Sacrifices are made by all of those who put on that uniform, but they are also made by the loved ones they leave behind. Nunnery’s tenure in Vietnam was short, due to Nunnery losing his life, but his story, along with Betty’s, is one of bravery, dedication, honor, and love.

Hazmat team, Ford Construction work to remove diesel from Farms detention pond

Early Monday morning, a wreck occurring at the intersection of Hwy. 51 Bypass and Flowering Dogwood Lane, resulted in the spillage of diesel, which, in turn, caused contamination to a detention pond located beside The Farms’ golf course.
