Dyersburg State’s White wins trio of Coach of the Year awards

After guiding the Eagles to a 39-13 record and to the precipice of the program’s first-ever trip to the NJCAA World Series this past spring, Dyersburg State head baseball coach Robert White has been recognized for the history making season as he has won a trio of awards as White has been named Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Junior College Coach of the Year, Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Coach of the Year and the American Baseball Coaches Association East Central Region Coach of the Year.

Trojan defense entombs Pharaohs; DHS advances to Class 3A quarterfinals

The Trojan defense created good offensive positioning for the offense and – except for the Pharaohs' lone touchdown run in the second half – the black and gold defenders kept Raleigh Egypt’s offense in check as the handed the Region 8-3A champions a 28-7 loss on their homefield on Friday night in the second round of the TSSAA Class 3A State Playoffs in Memphis.

Hart wins State Farm awards

State Farm is proud to announce that Agent Chad Hart in Dyersburg recently qualified for one of State Farm's most prestigious awards. Chad qualified for Chairman's Circle in 2015 which is his third time to qualify in the past three years. This award is only achieved by the top 5 percent of the company’s 18,000-plus agency force. He also qualified for State Farm's local Zone award called Senior Vice President's Club which is achieved by the top 2 percent in the Zone and includes seven states in the southeastern part of the country.

DSCC to co-host minority business ownership seminar

Dyersburg State Community College, along with the Mid-South Minority Business Council (MMBC) Continuum, will co-host a free seminar entitled “Life Cycle Approach to Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE) Growth.” The event will be held Nov. 29, from 8:30-11:30 a.m., inside the Baptist Memorial Health Care Academic Building Auditorium at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
