A strong second-half performance from Northview allowed the Choctaws from Newbern to turn their seven-point lead at the half into a much bigger advantage by the end of the game, taking a 49-38 win over an improving Three Oaks boys team on Thursday night at Northview Middle School.

Newbern police aid DPD in arrest of Illinois fugitive

On Jan. 3, officers of both Newbern and Dyersburg Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit worked side by side when apprehending 18-year-old Willie Charles Jackson, a fugitive from justice who had been sought after by law enforcement officials at the Lake County Sheriff’s Department in Illinois for charges including two counts of first-degree murder.
