Five Choctaws receive individual District 13AAA honors

Five Dyer County boys basketball players were selected for individual honors following the District 13AAA Championship Game on Tuesday night at Munford High School. Members of the Choctaws honored were (from left) Jefhry Taylor (All Tournament), Tray Swift (All Tournament), Rico Quinton (All District, All Tournament), Caleb Ball (All District, All Academic) and Will Stoddard (All Academic).

Former Eagle Douglas bringing Harlem Legends to DSCC for sold-out show tonight

An entertaining night of basketball is to be expected tonight at Dyersburg State as former DSCC Eagle Michael Douglas, who travelled the globe for seven years as a member of the Harlem Globetrotters from 1986-1993, brings the Harlem Legends Celebrity Basketball Show to his college home for a sold-out show tonight tipping off at 6 p.m.

The shelter has identified a need that might be easily met by those who support our work. We are in need of new beds for the cages. The beds are canvas suspended on a metal frame. This type bed keeps the animals off the floor and is easier on sore joints. Beds come in small, medium and large sizes and average $30 each.
