Trojan Drama set to perform ‘Project Murder’

The Dyersburg High School Drama Club will present their fall production of “Project Murder – The Elimination Challenge” by Don Zolidis. The show, which meshes fashion and murder-mystery, will run 4 shows over the course of 5 days, beginning Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the DHS Little Theater. All tickets are $6 each, and no children under the age of 5 will be admitted.

City board approves downtown dog park

The City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened Monday evening inside the Municipal Building courtroom. With many items of new business on the agenda, most notable was the City’s Recreation Committee’s approval of the dog park, a project of the 2016 Dyer County Leadership group. The board would vote upon the park Monday night.

Three taken to hospital after 2-vehicle accident on bypass

At approximately 12:55 p.m., Dyersburg Police Department, along with Dyersburg Fire Department and Tennova-Dyersburg EMS, responded to a 2-vehicle accident on the Highway 51 Bypass near St. John Avenue. The two vehicles involved were a white Buick Regal, driven by Beverly Canady, 72, of 1307 Hornbrook of Dyersburg, as well as a white BMW, driven by Kenneth Dixon, 35, of 155 Mesa Lane of Dyersburg. Canady’s Buick also contained a passenger, 75 year-old Carolyn Wiley of Dyersburg.
