Dyer County wins A.F. Bridges State Award of Excellence

Wednesday became a historic day for Dyer County High School as the school was awarded the A.F. Bridges Award State Award of Excellence for Class AAA in West Tennessee during the regional meeting in Jackson.

At the Shelter

The Shelter is still well over capacity at 87. There are 41 dogs and 46 cats and kittens. A few have been rescued and some adopted, but there are many still streaming into the shelter. Luckily there are 7 pups that came in with one female, so the Shelter is still on the border of “no more room at the inn.” If more dogs can’t be rescued or adopted, some of these dogs are at risk for euthanasia to open space for new dogs...

Hundreds attend job fair at library

On Tuesday, hundreds of area residents from Dyer and surrounding counties attended a job fair from held at the McIver’s Grant Public Library. The job fair, which occurred from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., was held in a partnership with the library as well as the American Job Center Tennessee – Dyersburg.

Helicopter crash lands
