DFD responds to fire at St. Joseph Manor, residents evacuated for safety

At 3:47 a.m. Saturday morning, DFD responded to a fire at St. Joseph Manor, located at 885 Hwy. 51 Bypass, where the heating unit of one apartment reportedly caught fire causing the evacuation of 19 surrounding apartments.

THP responds to wrecks on I-155, shuts down eastbound travel for 4 hours

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday night, icy road conditions resulted in 2 wrecks on I-155 near the 3-mile marker, which left Missouri-Tennessee travel at a standstill for roughly 4 hours. According to THP Trooper Tony Freeze, a semi-truck driven by Jorge Olivio, 49, was traveling eastbound when hitting a patch of ice that caused the truck to jackknife across the guard rail of the median, effectively blocking both eastbound lanes.
