TDEC director, Sanderson make presentation for Dyer County Recycles

Dyer County Recycles welcomed State Rep. Bill Sanderson and TDEC Director of Solid Waste Management Pat Flood to an open meeting for Dyer County citizens. Flood brought with him an interactive presentation regarding the opportunities available for recycling in our county and opened his presentation by stating, ‘Recycling done right is good for the state and creates wealth’.

Newbern board OKs rezoning, contracts TLM for police department reconstruction

Tuesday at noon, the Newbern Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened for its regular session with items on the agenda, including: zoning changes to a vacant lot on Williams Street, department updates, discussion regarding an Amtrak resolution, the Newbern Police Department RFQ, dog park proposal and change of the monthly board meeting time.

In a game that pretty much had it all – comebacks, buzzer beaters, clutch free throws, etc. - Dyersburg found itself down two of its three senior starters but the Trojan bench played a big part in the black and gold pulling out a double-overtime 86-83 win over visiting Crockett County to remain unbeaten in District 13AA.
