No. 7 Choctaws fall after dominant Brighton start

While a basketball game is four quarters long, it was the first two on Friday night in Brighton between the seventh-ranked Choctaws and hosting Cardinals which made the difference as Brighton jumped out to a 28-point halftime lead that the Tribe was unable to overcome as Dyer County fell 75-49 in District 13AAA action.

Alderman Kirk attends president’s State of the Union address

While people across the world tuned in to listen to President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union Address Tuesday evening, one local resident was taking in the experience firsthand. As special guest of Congressman David Kustoff, City of Dyersburg alderman Bob Kirk sat in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. soaking up the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity listening to the president present his message.
