In a game which saw both teams whistled for a combined 52 fouls while shooting over 70 free throws, a late three-point play then a free throw by Jamirah Shutes – who scored 42 for the Lady Tomcats – allowed Haywood to escape with a 75-72 win in Class AA Sectional action on Saturday night after a fourth-quarter rally by the Lady Trojans forced overtime before ending the Dyersburg season.

He was born on July 20, 1935, in Bogota, TN, to the late Malcolm Odelle Cutler and the late Willie Lorene Blackley Bottoms. Kiwanis Club serves over 700 locals at annual Pancake Day breakfast

Transitions Butterfly Race raises over $9,500

Clear skies welcomed hundreds of participants to Saturday morning’s Transitions Butterfly Run, held at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. This year’s event successfully raised $9,665 in proceeds, which will go toward the benefit of Transitions of Dyer County.

Man arrested for having loaded weapon on DHS campus
