Rubber Ducks Race to be held this weekend at Discovery Park

Discovery Park of America and Final Flight Outfitters have teamed up to raise money for the Kirkland Memorial Scholarship Fund in a unique way. This coming Saturday, March 24 the first 500 people to enter the park can purchase a Rubber Duck for $10 plus tax. The purchase of this duck grants them free admission into the park. All proceeds will go to the Kirkland Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps underprivileged schools bring student field trips to the park...

Lady Choctaws split four games in Sarah Beth Whitehead Tournament

The Dyer County softball team made their annual trek to the Sarah Beth Whitehead Tournament on Friday and Saturday, coming away with a 2-2 mark during their four-game stay through pool play and into bracket action at Lexington. In fact, the Lady Choctaws earned splits on both days, falling to Milan 3-1 before bouncing back to defeat Camden 2-1 on Friday then ending pool play on Saturday morning with a 6-0 win over Gibson County before exiting in the opening round of bracket play with a 6-5 loss to McKenzie.. ...

Lady Trojans win three at Commando Classic

The Lady Trojan softball team got back on the winning side of .500 over the weekend, going 3-1 in their trip to Hendersonville and the Commando Classic. Dyersburg opened play on Friday with a 13-0 win over Eagleville and a 5-4 win over hosting Hendersonville. Library holds secret agent training academy during spring break

While spring break for Dyer County and Dyersburg students occurred last week, McIver’s Grant Public Library held a 3-day spring break event – a secret agent training academy. Approximately 87 local children attended the training academy, which took place Tuesday, March 13 – Thursday March 15, to defeat the evil Dr. Chaos.

Decision is out over writ regarding alleged illegal search by TBI agents

On Monday, March 19, Ridgely resident Fred Wortman Jr., accompanied by his wife Marilyn, appeared before Lake County Chancery Court Judge Tony Childress concerning a petition for a Writ of Mandamus filed by Wortman after alleging he and his wife to be victims of an illegal search executed on their home by two TBI agents, Mark Reynolds and Jeff Jackson.
