Despite being hampered by errors early on during Wednesday’s District 13AA opener at Doug French Field, the Dyersburg softball team still managed to give themselves more than one chance to win with rallies in the sixth and seventh innings before an eighth-inning homer from Westview’s ninth hitter proved to be the difference as the Lady Chargers won 6-5.

Newbern OKs dog park for Nora Park, consolidation of water-sewer system debt

City Board approves bids, Kirk expresses concern over meeting minutes

During the approval of the previous meeting’s minutes (March 5), Alderman Bob Kirk again expressed his concern of the Feb. 20 minutes, which were not approved by the board (7-2 vote on March 5).
