Jamborees fill the weekend football schedule

Local football fans will have more than their share of pigskin fun this weekend beginning tonight as there will be three jamborees – two high school and one middle school – on the docket for the next two days in Dyersburg and Newbern.

Jakes Day is Saturday at fairgrounds

The 18th annual Jakes Day is set to occur Saturday at the Dyer County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m.–noon. The event is a free youth day designed to introduce children to the outdoors as well as enjoy participating in hands-on outdoor activities. Dot Foods donates $20,000 among 4 local food pantries

Thursday, Aug. 9, at 9 a.m., a large crowd of Dot Foods employees and Dyersburg City Mayor John Holden gathered together alongside representatives of four local food pantries, which will now share $20,000 in food donations generously provided for by Dot Foods.
