Lady Choctaws take 14AAA title after wins over Brighton, Arlington

Despite losing the first set of the day, the Lady Choctaws grabbed the momentum during the second set of the District 14AAA Tournament Semifinal on Thursday at Dyer County High School, riding that wave through a four-set win over second-seeded Brighton then into and through a sweep of Arlington in the finals to capture the program’s third district title in four seasons.

Dustin Harris fund established for heart transplant medical expenses

Local resident Dustin Harris, 33, was recently admitted into Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where it was discovered he has stage four congestive heart failure and is in need of a heart transplant. Dustin is the son of Jessie and Teresa Harris. Jessie owns and operates the Harris Produce truck, located at the Green Village Shopping Center in Dyersburg.

First Christian Church annual pumpkin patch now open
