As the final precincts began to trickle in on Tuesday night, a couple of things became crystal clear to those of us paying attention to the election of the Dyersburg mayor, as well as the board of aldermen. Veterans Day Luncheon occurs at National Guard

Though the annual Veterans Day Parade was cancelled due to inclement weather on Monday, the Veterans Day Luncheon continued, being held at the National Guard Armory at 10:30 a.m. Sponsors for the event included the American Legion Post No. 30, American Legion Post No. 191, VFW Post No. 1972, DAV Chapter 46 and DAV Chapter 46 Auxiliary. The luncheon invites all veterans to take part in the meal.

THP to hold sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, Nov. 24

Be advised, during the evening hours of Saturday, November 24, the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on a state route in Dyer County.
