Dyer County to receive funds under re-entry incentive grant program

Gadsden-Dupree speaks at annual MLK Jr. luncheon

On Friday, Jan. 18, Dr. Robin Gadsden-Dupree was the gust speaker of the 34th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon and Community Celebration. The event, held inside the Student Center at the Dyersburg State Community College main campus at noon, was co-hosted by the Dyersburg/ Dyer County Chamber of Commerce and DSCC.

Dyer County FFA to host trivia night

Dyer County High School FFA is hosting Trivia Night on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. Teams are $60 each, with six members per team, or $10 for individual tickets. Trivia will cover all subject areas and prizes will be awarded. Tickets are available for purchase through any FFA member, FFA advisor or at the door on the night of the event. Dyer County honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with annual march

Though temperatures ranged in the mid- to upper 20s Monday morning, it did not deter the spirit of local community members who gathered to participate in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial March and Celebration in Dyersburg. With residents gathered at both Future City and Bruce Community Centers, the respective marches began at 10:30 a.m. with participants leaving the community centers and arriving at the Dyer County Courthouse in downtown Dyersburg for a short program at 11 a.m. The day’s events were presented by the Dyer County NAACP branch.
