Dyersburg’s baseball team’s struggles in District 13AA continued on Tuesday as the Trojans were unable to overcome a five-run first inning by South Gibson as the black and gold fell to the Hornets 15-4 in five innings at Tom Mathis Field. Dyer County baseball drops first district game at Hardin County

A three-run first inning by the Tigers proved to be enough to get Hardin County off to the start it needed as the Choctaws were unable to come from behind on Tuesday in Savannah, as Dyer County fell 5-3 to the Tigers. A one-out single by Kyle Lambert sparked the rally as Seth Copeland followed with a two-run homerun to put the Tigers on top in the bottom of the first. ...

At the Shelter

The number of animals ready for adoption at the Shelter is a whopping 69, down from last week, but still high. The total head count is approximately 125. Rescue groups are working hard to help find new homes for as many as they can, but there is a great need for adopters and fosters. The Shelter also needs volunteers to walk dogs, donate and/or shred newspapers for litter boxes, check on water bowls, etc...

Lady Choctaws score early, often in win over Brighton

Dyer County scored in each of the first four innings to set the tone for the Lady Choctaws who continued their strong play within District 13AAA as only a pair of Caylee Comer homers made it to the board for the Lady Cardinals as the orange and white defeated Brighton 7-3 on Tuesday night in Newbern.
