Local children attend annual Dyersburg FFA Little Lamb Camp

The annual Dyersburg FFA Little Lamb Camp was held from May 28-31 at the Dyer County Fairgrounds with over 100 local children, ages 5-9, participating. Over the course of the week, Dyersburg FFA students, along with various community assistants, spent the week teaching the children about lambs and how to care for them. Children enjoyed washing and shearing their lambs, as well as learning how to walk them.

William Paul Nale, 78, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Born Saturday, December 7, 1940 in Miston, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Raymond Nale and the late Alice McClean Nale. Mr. Nale was a retired EMT/Shift manager for the Parkview Ambulance Service, farmer, former employee of Homestead and was an employee of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Dyersburg Civitan conducts annual Vidalia onion fundraiser

On Friday, May 31, the Dyersburg Civitan Club held their annual Vidalia onion fundraiser at Okeena Park. Civitan Club members sold close to 14,000 lbs. of onions. Money raised from the sale will go toward various civic projects including, but not limited to, the club’s annual dictionary project, DSCC scholarships, and the wheelchair ramp initiative.

DSCC to host Junior Eagles Basketball Camp

Dyersburg finance committee resumes budget discussion

On Monday, June 3 at 9 a.m., the City of Dyersburg’s Finance Committee reconvened to continue budget discussions for the upcoming fiscal 2019-2020 year. Discussions originally began on May 22 and 23 when committee members heard budget proposals from the City’s various department heads.

Charges added in Forrest St. shooting, suspect bond set at $250,000

Travion Thomas, 19, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Dyersburg, appeared before Judge Dean Dedmon Monday afternoon in Dyersburg City Court on a charge of aggravated assault. Dedmon also announced additional charges for Thomas including attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Judge Dedmon set Thomas’ bond at $250,000.

Man arrested after deputies discover 51.6 grams of drugs, firearm during vehicle search

On Saturday, June 1, Stephen Heath Coker, 19, of Newbern was arrested after deputies of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department recovered three bags of methamphetamines weighing 31 grams, a bag of cocaine weighing 11.42 grams, and a bag of marijuana weighing 9.22 grams.

Tiptonville man arrested for alleged possession of 34.8 grams of marijuana

Two men arrested on meth charges, 12 grams found during vehicle search

On June 2, Adam Stanley Henry, 36, and Ryan Binkley, 37, both of Dyersburg, were arrested by the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department after discovering over 12 grams of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies seize 173 grams of marijuana, 2.3 grams meth while serving search warrant

On May 31, Jason Wayne Millner, 37, of Dyersburg was arrested on drug charges after the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant for stolen property reportedly being held inside of a residence located in the Christie Street area.
