Dyer County opens preseason against Milan in 7-on-7 action

Children participate in astronaut training camp at McIver’s Grant

As part of McIver’s Grant Public Library’s summer reading program, a number of local children participated in the library’s astronaut training camp Tuesday morning. Vanessa Cain, the library’s director of children and youth services, began the event by reading ‘Penguinaut’. Those in attendance also enjoyed story time from space, as astronaut Scott Kelly read ‘Moustronaut Goes to Mars’ from the International Space Station. Following the stories, activities continued in the library’s Kid’s Zone, where children created their own astronaut badge. Everyone in attendance also received a NASA sticker and pencil.

Historical Society welcomes WWII veteran for discussion on D-Day Invasion

Public hearing held as part of DPD’s CALEA reaccreditation assessment

On Tuesday evening, July 9, at 7 p.m., CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc.) representatives held a public hearing as part of Dyersburg Police Department’s on-site reaccreditation with the organization. During the hearing, a number of community members and city officials spoke of their experiences with the department as well as recognitions DPD has received.
