Education commissioner welcomed as guest speaker for Dyer County Back to School Luncheon

A large crowd gathered at Dyer County High School on Monday, July 29, for a visit from State Department of Education Commissioner Dr. Penny Schwinn, who was welcomed as the guest speaker for Dyer County Schools’ Back to School Luncheon. Schwinn was sworn-in as Tennessee’s education commissioner on Feb 1, 2019 and plans to continue to accelerate growth through excellence in achievement, empowerment of students and teachers, and engagement of all stakeholders.

Dyersburg Noon Rotary to hold Charity Skeet Shoot Aug. 17

On Saturday, August 17, the Dyersburg Noon Rotary will hold a Charity Skeet Shoot at the Dyersburg Gun Club, located at Phillips St. extended. Teams of five may register for $250 or $50 per shooter. The shoot will start at 9 a.m. The top three teams will receive awards. A meal will be included...
