TSBA reveals candidates for City Schools director, board reviews grievance

On Monday, November 4, the Dyersburg City School Board convened at the system’s Central Office building at 5:30 p.m. With all school board members present, Dr. Tammy Grissom, TSBA (Tennessee School Board Association) Executive Director provided an update to the board on the search for the next director of schools and revealed TSBA’s top 4 candidates for the job.

Grills, Smith win State Rep. special primary election

On Tuesday evening, shortly after 7 p.m., the unofficial results of the special primary election for the District 77 State Representative seat became available. Polls closed at 7 p.m. in the district, encompassing Dyer, Lake, and Obion counties. Once the votes were tallied, Dyer County’s Rusty Grills won the Republican Primary, carrying nearly 56 percent of the votes within the three counties, while unopposed Michael Smith, also of Dyer County, advanced on the Democrat ballot.
