Pop-up art contest held over the weekend

Organizers from Healing Horses Inc. and Raising Kellan said they recently partnered to host an art contest as a creative project for children to work on during the pandemic. The artwork will be displayed soon for community members to view at McIver’s Grant Public Library.

Hospital CEO announces resignation

On Monday evening, May 4, Reba Celsor, Chief Executive Officer of West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg Hospital, submitted a thirty-day notice of resignation letter to West Tennessee Healthcare Chief Operating Officer Tina Prescott. Celsor informed the local hospital board, via phone conference, of her decision Tuesday morning.

Dyersburg Board ok’s rezoning request, grant application

On Monday evening, May 4, the City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened via phone conference for their regularly scheduled board meeting. The meeting was held pursuant to Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order 16, which permits local governing bodies to conduct meetings electronically. Board members heard two items of new business – a public hearing to amend property on Community Park Road from a planned business district to a medium density residential district and a resolution allowing the City to apply for the Governor’s Local Government Support Grants.

DPD captures suspect in Tuesday morning standoff

Following a standoff with Dyersburg Police at a residence on Wilson Circle, DPD arrested Antoine LaKeith Thomas, 29, of Dyersburg on charges of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, evading arrest, and domestic assault.
