McDowell awarded National DAR Helen Pouch Classroom Grant

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Junior Membership Committee recently awarded Fifth Consolidated Elementary School educator Blair McDowell one of the prized Helen Pouch Memorial Fund Classroom Grants for Tennessee for 2020. DHS’ Yousuf named National Merit semifinalist

Recently, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Of the names released, Dyersburg High School was notified of a senior who received the honor, Kamil Yousuf.

Mural dedication celebration set for Sept. 24

Dyer County COVID-19 update for September 14

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Monday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,152 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 157 active cases with 983 recoveries/inactive cases.
