Dyer County COVID-19 update for September 15

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Tuesday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,161 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 142 active cases with 1,006 recoveries/inactive cases.

Dyersburg School Board reviews policies, school updates

The Dyersburg City School Board convened Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. inside the Dyersburg High School project room for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. The agenda contained various items of business including school updates, policy reviews, and the introduction of new teachers for the 20-21 school year.

Dyer County Legislative Body approves Three Star Program recognition

The Dyer County Legislative Body met on Monday night in the Dyer County General Sessions Courtroom for their first monthly meeting following the passing of the fiscal year budget back in August. Commissioners were notified by Dyer County Mayor Chris Young on the Three Star Program and informed the county had received the Fiscal Strength and Efficient Government Confirmation Letter.

DPD arrests wanted suspect

On Monday morning, September 14, Dyersburg Police officers arrested Seth Williams, 28, who is reportedly wanted out of Dyersburg City Court and Dyer County, on Diane Drive.
