DPD makes multiple assault, weapons-related arrests over weekend

Over the past weekend, Dyersburg Police made multiple arrests in numerous cases involving assaults and weapons-related charges. In three separate incidents, DPD arrested Tony Lake, 49, of Dyersburg, Geremy Causey, 29, of Memphis, and Jeremy Kimble, 30, of Dyersburg. All three appeared in Dyersburg City Court Monday afternoon, September 21.

Dyersburg Board approves beer permit, recreation grant resolution

The City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened Monday evening at 7 p.m. via teleconference for their regularly scheduled meeting. Board members heard numerous items of new business including a beer permit for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, a resolution to allow the City to apply for the 2020 Public Parks and Recreation Grant, as well as a review of the minutes from committee meetings held last week.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for September 22

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Tuesday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,287 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 184 active cases with 1,091 recoveries/inactive cases.

Dyersburg varsity football game vs. North Side canceled

Just three days before the Dyersburg Trojans were set to take on North Side in a non-region battle between two Class 4A teams, for the second week in a row, Trojan fans received bad news regarding their team’s game on Tuesday for the upcoming Friday as the school released information on the battle with the Indians.
