Sells family re-files lawsuit against private investigator, man charged with extortion

On Sept.28 a lawsuit against a private investigator as well as a local man charged with extortion against a local businessman was re-filed in Circuit Court of Dyer County. An initial lawsuit, filed by Darrell Sells, his daughter Dena Sells Quertermous, and son-in-law Martin Bentley Quertermous on April 20, 2020, was voluntarily dismissed without prejudice on Aug.19, 2020. The re-filing of the lawsuit falls within one year of the prior dismissal.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for October 7

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Wednesday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,599 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 227 active cases with 1,353 recoveries/inactive cases.
