Dyersburg Schools to resume classes this week in Phase 2, DHS modified Phase 2

On Sunday evening, October 11, Dyersburg City Schools announced classes would resume tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 12, in Phase 2 (Pre-K-8th grade), while Dyersburg High School will operate in Phase 2 modified. The phase announcement was made via a letter from Dyersburg City Schools Director of Schools Kim Worley.

Dyer County COVID-19 update for October 12

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Monday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 1,778 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 325 active cases with 1,432 recoveries/inactive cases.

Early voting begins Wednesday; absentee ballot request deadline Oct. 27

The early voting period for the upcoming State and Federal General Election, along with races for the cities of Newbern and Trimble, will begin Wednesday, October 14 and occur through Thursday, October 29. Those who wish to cast their ballots early may do so at the Dyer County Election Commission, located at 113 West Market St. in downtown Dyersburg, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
