Following a season which ended far sooner than the Lady Choctaws and the rest of the sports teams in the state wanted it to, the Dyer County softball team is preparing for the upcoming season with hopes of getting to the Class AAA State Tournament for the fourth time in five years.

Billy Bryant, 59, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Continue Care Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Born Friday, April 14, 1961 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Billy Bryant and Linda Woods Clark. He was the Logistics Manager for Komatsu of Ripley, Tennessee. Mr. Bryant was a member of Three Oaks Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, was a former coach and board member of the Newbern Dixie Youth Baseball League and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team.
