Dyersburg man charged with threatening an officer

On July 3, Dyersburg Police responded to a call of a possible burglary and arrested James Lucero, 22, of Dyersburg on public intoxication. After being taken into custody, Lucero picked up an additional charge of retaliation of past actions after he reportedly threatened an officer.

DPD arrests local man on drug possession

On July 5, Dyersburg Police arrested one man on drug possession charges, while a second man was issued a citation for weapon possession. Charles Kirk, 41, of Dyersburg was taken into custody on charges of possession of a schedule II, possession of a schedule IV, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication. Also, the DPD issued a citation to Ernst Gregory, 25, of Dyersburg for unlawful possession/carrying a weapon.

Local man arrested on 3 counts of aggravated assault on first responders

A Dyersburg man was taken into custody on July 5 on three counts of aggravated assault on first responders. Jascin Dillard, 19, was arrested after three artillery firework rounds were reportedly shot at Dyersburg Police officers.

Mason man in custody with assault on first responder charge

A Mason, Tenn. man was taken into custody following a traffic stop. Eddie Douglas, 45, was arrested on charges of assault on a first responder, criminal impersonation, evading arrest, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dyer County students named among MTSU’s ‘True Blue 100’ honorees

Middle Tennessee State University has released its latest “True Blue 100” honorees, including two students from Dyer County.
