DCHS’ Capshaw receives NSDAR ROTC Medal

Key Corner NSDAR member and National Defense committee chairman Mary Adcock presented December Capshaw, a senior at DCHS, the NSDAR Bronze ROTC Medal on April 1 at the annual ROTC Ball. Recipients must have demonstrated loyalty and patriotism and earned a record of military and scholastic achievement during their participation in an ROTC program. Also Capshaw distinguished herself for demonstrating qualities of dependability, leadership, strong character, and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of ROTC training. The local DAR chapter has been presenting this award since 1996.

Dyer County Relay for Life is set to occur this Friday, May 6, at Sorghum Valley at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. Dyersburg City Schools recognized several educators and staff members Monday evening with a celebration dinner at Dyersburg Middle School. The event honored educators and personnel who will be retiring upon the conclusion of the current school year in addition to those selected as the system’s teachers of the year.
