Mr. Roy Brown Chandler, of Dyersburg, passed away May 3, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Jackson General Hospital. He was born December 20, 1934 to the late Johnny & Pauline Chandler. He was a graduate of Dyersburg High School. Roy spent much of his life working in Dyersburg, as a young man at the Dyersburg Cotton Mill, where his parents also worked for much of their lives. ...

Dyersburg man sentenced to 20 years for second-degree murder

Demetrice Livingston, 27, was found guilty of second-degree murder after a jury trial and was sentenced to serve 20 years with the Tennessee Department Corrections. The trial was presided over by the Honorable Mark Hayes.

Dyersburg man sentenced to 28 years for drug, weapon possession

Willie Locust, 65, was found guilty after a jury trial of possession of cocaine over 0.5 grams with intent to sell or deliver; possession of methamphetamine over 0.5 grams with intent to sell or deliver; simple possession of Xanex; unlawful possession of a weapon; and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and sentenced to serve 28 years with the Tennessee Department Corrections. The trial was presided over by the Honorable Mark Hayes.

Dyersburg Trojans increase their win streak to eight with victory over Bolivar Central

The Dyersburg baseball team went on the road to face Bolivar Central. It was a low-action game as Dyersburg scored one early and held it the rest of the game for a 1-0 road win. The Trojans look to build some momentum going into the district tournament in Newbern as they were 3-12 after their last loss to Dyer County and have since been 8-0 and have improved their record to 11-12.

Dyer County falls to Obion in final game of the regular season

The Dyer County Choctaws celebrated senior night on Tuesday at home. The Choctaws hosted the Obion Rebels for their last district game. The two teams battled it out across regulation with Dyer County scoring the first goal, but Obion put up the next two to leave with a 2-1 victory over the Choctaws.
