State Gazette Girls Basketball Defensive Player of the Year: Dyer County’s Eden LaRue

With a finish to a high school athletic career which fittingly ended with two out of three sports she played at the state tournament, Dyer County’s Eden LaRue was an important cog in the Lady Choctaws’ machine that made a run to the TSSAA Class AAA Girls Basketball State Tournament and she has been named the State Gazette Girls Basketball Defensive Player of the Year for the 2022-23 school year.

The National Senior Beta Convention competition results were announced today, June 20, 2023. Dyersburg High School students Clare Bernheisel earned 3rd place in sophomore English, Carrie Semmel earned 5th place in senior English, and Josh Bernheisel earned 1st place in the nation for senior math.
