TN Delta Alliance and Dyer County distribute tarps to keep trash out of the rivers

In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of trash and litter in area rivers, the Dyer County Building, Zoning, and Solid Waste Office gave away free tarps at the Sorrel Chapel Road Landfill, on Monday, July 31, 2023.

TCAT Northwest and DSCC sign agreement for a “seamless” transfer of credits

TCAT Northwest President Youlanda Jones and Dyersburg State Community College President Scott Cook signed an articulation agreement allowing students to transfer credits toward an Associates Degree. More specifically, the pact allows students with an Industrial Maintenance Manufacturing-Injection Molding certificate earned at TCAT Northwest to transfer 30 credit hours, or, with an Industrial Maintenance Technician Certificate to transfer 27 credit hours, towards an Associates Degree in Engineering Systems Technology at DSCC.

Bill Sanderson Hosts Dyer County Master Gardeners at White Squirrel Winery

On a bright, sunny day in July, Dyer County Master Gardeners had the treat of visiting the White Squirrel Winery in Kenton, Tennessee. Master Gardeners were welcomed into a beautiful building Bill Sanderson called the ‘barn,’ where he stores wines and gift items for sale to those visiting the winery.

Farm to Table Dinner benefit for Healing Horses galloping in soon

The annual Farm to Table Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 6:30pm. All proceeds will benefit Healing Horses, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose mission includes “goals of enhancing the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted therapy.”
