Lady Trojans come back to defeat Central in District 13AAA opener

Though the Lady Trojans (15-2, 1-0) trailed for much of the first three quarters, the Dyersburg girls ended the game strong, outscoring Central 11-0 at one point across the third and fourth quarters on their way to a 46-40 win over the Lady Rebels on Tuesday night in Dyersburg.

Dyer County boys top Peabody; girls fall

With a full week of action capped off by back-to-back games over the weekend, Dyer County’s boys traveled to Trenton and returned from Peabody High School with a 77-66 win over the Golden Tide on Tuesday night. Though the Tide struck early with 18 points in the opening quarter, the Choctaws stayed right on their pace. Six points from Pierre Isom as well as four each by Marcus Martin and Jamin Gauldin kept the Peabody lead at 18-16 after one quarter...

School Board hears explanation of the TDOE’s letter grade system, DHS and DIS’s “C”s

At a monthly meeting held on January 8, the Dyersburg School Board entertained regular business items, but the main focus was on the letter grades Tennessee’s schools received in December from the Tennessee Department of Education [TDOE]. While Dyersburg Middle School [DMS] scored an “A,” Dyersburg High- and Intermediate Schools [DHS; DIS] scored “C”s. Dyersburg City School Director Kim Worley and Curriculum Coordinator Seela Newbill were on hand to explain the TDOE’s grading criteria.

Dyersburg's Manneh named to TSWA All-State Team

After a career which ended this past October with a fourth straight state tournament appearance as well as a spot in the TSSAA record books, Dyersburg Lady Trojan senior soccer standout Zainab Manneh has been named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team for the third straight season.

Lady Choctaw volleyball duo named to TSWA All-State Team

For the third straight season, a pair of Dyer County Lady Choctaws have received the highest individual honors a volleyball player in the TSSAA can earn as they have been named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's All-State Team in Class AA.
