This weekend, hundreds are expected to converge on the farm of brother and sister Bennie and Kathy Moore. The sixth annual Old Mound "Saddle-Up" for St. Jude Trailride will be held Sept. 24-26 at 824 Old Mound Road near Friendship. Landfill open only one Saturday each month

The Dyersburg city board voted unanimously Monday night to keep the landfill open only one Saturday of each month as the actual number of weekend users failed to justify the cost of operation. The director of public works, Freddie Krapf, told the mayor and aldermen that each Saturday was costing between $300-$350 in salaries alone, which did not include utilities, fuel for equipment and related operational costs. ...
