Poor David Alred. He didn't fully comprehend what he was getting into when he agreed to participate in a friendly challenge pitting MedSouth Healthcare against Sports Plus Rehab Centers. It was a pie-in-the-face contest between Alred, MedSouth's head honcho, and Al Guthrie, the top dog at Sports Plus. Employees deposited donations into boxes to vote for the man they most wanted to see in whipped cream. The winner was then supposed to get a pie in the face during MedSouth's cookout last Friday...

Pair sentenced to house arrest for trying to pass counterfeit bill

A Dyersburg pair pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of attempting to pass counterfeit money and were each sentenced to serve one year of house arrest and to pay $100 fines.
