Committee gives nod to purchase tractor for landfill use

John Damesworth, newly-appointed superintendent of the Sanitation Department, requested the city purchase a new tractor at a called sanitation committee meeting on Wednesday morning. Mississippi River bridge closed after pier hit

A pier supporting the I-155 bridge over the Mississippi River was hit by a barge at about 4:50 a.m. Sunday, prompting closure of connecting roads in Tennessee and Missouri for two hours.
