County adopts $2.35 property tax rate

Despite concerns about the countywide property reappraisal, the Dyer County Commission on Monday approved the 2008-09 county budget and property tax rate. The property tax rate will be $2.35 for every $100 of assessed property value. That is, essentially, a 10-cent increase in the tax rate. The city of Dyersburg passed the first reading of its 2008-2009 budget at Monday night's meeting of the Board of Mayor and Alderman.
