DPS earns portion of $1.4M in grants for fresh fruits, veggies

Dyersburg Primary School is one of 72 elementary and middle schools in the state offering free fruits and vegetables to students through the USDA Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Grant this academic year. The goal of the federal grant, administered through the Tennessee Department of Education, is to implement a program to increase student consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. DPS will receive $41,834 from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 to offer the program to its students...
