Ruby Alford, 78, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a retired Advertising Director for 31 years for the State Gazette, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a member of Young at Heart. Dyer County to receive $80,000 grant for boat dock, improvements at river park

Phil Bredesen and Environment and Conservation Commissioner Jim Fyke recently announced more than $1.9 million in Recreational Trail Program grants will be awarded to recipients across Tennessee. Ramps on I-155 to close for weekend bridge repairs

TDOT will close the entrance and exit ramps at the interchange of Interstate 155 (U.S. Highway 51) and U.S. 412 (State Route 3) in Dyer County beginning Friday, June 4 as crews make repairs to the I-155 bridge deck located near the rest area. From Friday, June 4 at 7 p.m. through Monday, June 7 at 5 a.m. the ramps will be closed as crews perform concrete and expansion joint repairs at the abutments to the SR-3 bridges over I-155. A detour will be posted throughout the weekend...
