Faye Smith Hendren, 68, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at her residence. She was an administrative assistant to the vice president of Dyersburg State Community College where she was employed for 40 years, she served as President, Secretary, Treasurer and Shineshine Chair of the Administrative Professionals Council, formerly known as the Secretarial Council, a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was an active Deacon, President of the Lydia Circle, a Patron member of the Cumberland Women's Ministry, she also served on many church committees, she was a member of Professional Secretaries International and a Certified Professional Secretary.. ...

City's Neighborhood Stabilization Grant showing results

The city of Dyersburg has just begun the second phase of its Neighborhood Stabilization Grant, a program active in the community at just the right time for residents affected by the recent flooding. Awarded to the city just before the first of the year, the NSP Grant has been divided into two phases designed to aid property owners clean up residential properties throughout the city. Man arrested 8th time for driving on suspended/revoked license

A Memphis man was arrested on Friday for a driving offense that he was quite familiar with. Aaron Campbell, 27, 610 Georgia Ave., Memphis, is charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license after being stopped on Friday. Campbell was headed north on Lake Road when he was pulled over by a Dyersburg Police officer for violating the state's vehicle registration law by having a tinted lens over his license plate. ...

Felons indicted for illegal voting

Warning: Don't vote in the Aug. 5 county election and state primaries if you're a convicted felon. The squad, made up of players from both DHS and DCHS, left it all on the field.
