Demolition moves DSCC forward

Dyersburg State Community College recently demolished one of the earliest building blocks of the facility - a structure fondly referred to by college officials as "The White House." The residence, the first home to DSCC offices on the college property, had become difficult to maintain. Newbern awarded $500,000 for sewer upgrades

The Newbern Board of Mayor and Aldermen met last night to vote on a rezoning issue and discussed the state doing building inspections for them. To open the 2010-11 basketball season, the Dyersburg Trojan and Lady Trojan squads played host to Tipton-Rosemark Academy Tuesday night in the first of two Hall of Fame games, with both squads coming away with impressive results. One Dyersburg pharmacy was broken into and another had the front door smashed during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Belew and Ray Drugs, 70 US Highway 51 Bypass N, was broken into after a suspect threw a brick through the side door around 3 a.m. Entry was made inside the store and according to owner Mark Bowers several medicines were stolen...
