Joe E. Chadwick, 85, of Tiptonville, died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a life member of The American Legion and participated in the decorating of soldier's graves for over 60 years. Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Cassandra Chadwick officiating. Interment was in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Drug Task Force makes arrest on Hwy. 412

Agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force recently arrested a suspect on drug charges after allegedly discovering drugs and a scale lying beside his car after a traffic stop. Aaron Stewart, 25, 2209 Parr Ave., is charged with possession of Schedule VI (marijuana) over 0.5 ounces with intent to sell/deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and driving on a suspended driver's license...

The District 13-AAA champion Dyer County Choctaws returned home on Saturday night to face Raleigh-Egypt in the first round of the Region 7AAA tournament. Against the Pharaohs, a team that is continually one of the top teams in the region, the game was supposed to be a tough one for the Choctaws.
