DHS students participate in Chinese Bridge Summer Camp

DHS seniors Corena and Sarah Hasselle participated this past summer in the "Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students" sponsored by the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing in cooperation with various Confucius Institutes across the United States. The goal of the program is for American high school students to experience the Chinese language and culture in a hands-on, culturally immersed environment...

2012 Fairest of the Fair winners

After watching the Junior Fairest of the Fair pageant, it was time for the Senior Fairest of the Fair pageant. On a very humid evening, Taylor Lewis, daughter of Tony and Khristy Lewis of Dyersburg, was crowned queen over nine other contestants. Lewis will go on to represent Dyer County in Nashville at the state fair. On the opening evening of the 2012 Dyer County Fair, the first pageant held was the Junior Fairest of the Fair. This year Serena Mosley, daughter of Marcus and Selina Mosley of Dyersburg, was crowned queen among 10 contestants. Standing with her court, from left, First Maid Kelsea Tomczak, daughter of Ronnie and Laura Tomczak of Dyersburg, Second Maid Kacey Baker, daughter of Chad and Jennifer Baker of Dyersburg, Mosley, and Third Maid Courtney Maupin, daughter of Mark and Amy Maupin of Dyersburg.

Couple arrested after reportedly using drugs in front of children

A husband and his wife were both arrested by Dyer County Sheriff's deputies after reportedly using illegal drugs in front of their children. Missing resident found dead in single-vehicle accident on Monday

A local resident, who had been reported missing to the Dyer County Sheriff's Department on Sunday, Sept. 2, was discovered to have been the victim of a single-vehicle accident over the Labor Day weekend. The discovery was made around Noon on Monday when a Department of Transportation worker was traveling on Parr Avenue and noticed a vehicle in the ditch on the east side between Mall Boulevard on Highway 51. ...
