On the strength of their showings at this week's TNSCA All-Star games at Columbia State, Dyersburg's Paige Jones and Madison Caldwell were selected to play in the Kentucky/Tennessee All-Star Game next week in Kentucky.

Dyersburg High football team hosts annual youth camp

The Dyersburg High School football team is spending the next couple days getting to know some of the younger members of the program's feeder school as the DHS coaching staff and the Trojans are hosting their annual youth football camp which concludes this morning at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Hundreds of residents rally in celebration of Juneteenth events

A tide of joy, celebration, and overall community camaraderie swept over hundreds of community members who were rallied together at Future City for this year's Juneteenth event. A celebration signifying both freedom and the restoration of hope during a time when hope was much needed, Juneteenth events first originated during the post-Civil War era, directly following the Emancipation Proclamation, which granted freedom to hundreds of thousands of African American slaves.

County discusses current debt and options to refinance bonds

County to consider 15-cent tax hike

Following Tuesday mornings finance committee meeting, members of the budget committee convened to discuss the approval of the 2016-17 county budget. Opening the meeting, committee members addressed several large issues including the need to raise property taxes from $2.53 per $100 of assessed value to $2.68, an increase of 15 cents.

Dyersburg DMV awarded for organ, tissue donor awareness

April is National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness month, and MidSouth Transplant Foundation (MSTF) recently awarded the Dyersburg-Dyer County Driver Services Center for its support and efforts toward promoting the cause. Each year MSTF challenges local Department of Safety offices to participate in decorating their facilities for the annual 'Blue and Green' month competition.
