Seven local middle school players chosen for West Tennessee All-Star Game at West Caroll

Seven local middle school players have been selected for the second annual West Tennessee Middle School All-Star Game at West Carroll Middle School on Nov. 5. Local players selected were (from left) Ryan Evans (Northview), Laine Etheridge (Northview), Josh Stewart (Northview), Andrew Roberts (Northview), Trey Patterson (Three Oaks), Cody Pierce (Three Oaks) and Vance Pipkin (Three Oaks). The seven players from Northview and Three Oaks will play for the North team in the game which is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m.

'The Walk' Bible journey being held at Hillcrest

Hillcrest Baptist Church, located at 825 Hillcrest Ave. in Dyersburg, is currently hosting 'The Walk,' a journey through the Bible. The church hosted the event Monday evening, but they will also host the Bible journey on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, starting at 6 p.m.

First Autumn March receives overwhelming response

Community Project Fund hosts cookout Friday, donations to benefit local charities

On Friday, Oct. 28, between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., will be the kick off of Dyer County's Community Project Fund. This fundraising event will feature a cookout at the Dyer County Jail. Plates of food will be available for a $5 donation, and will include a hamburger, fried potatoes and onions, a soft drink or bottled water, and brownie.

Dyersburg Christmas Parade set Nov. 28; McIver's to host reading of 'Polar Express'

The Annual Dyersburg Christmas Parade kicks off the holiday season for the 66th year with a new route. In an effort to shift the parade to the Courthouse Square, parade organizer Main Street Dyersburg and Dyersburg Police have developed a simple route that is reminiscent of parades held 50 years ago.
