Tonight's results could effect Trojans in coming weeks

While the Dyersburg Trojans are finally getting a chance to take a deep breath and heal their wounds from 10 straight regular season games before taking their bye tonight, the final night of the TSSAA prep football regular season still remains for many schools, including some contests that could affect the Trojans when the playoffs start next week.

Lady Choctaws finish second in Region 7-AAA meet, earn return trip to state

Newbern Depot Museum open Sunday; tickets on sale for Christmas event

The Newbern Depot Museum will be open this Sunday, Oct. 30, from noon to 3 p.m. Historic displays, and six model trains will be running. The museum is free, but donations are accepted. Dyer County Recycles discusses Ocean Cleanup Project, potential partnership with Damascus

E-911 Board discusses updates to safe room

Late Tuesday afternoon, the E-911 Board convened for its regularly scheduled meeting, with items on the agenda including updates to the Newbern downtown safe room, a property rights dispute over the safe room construction room, plans for slight renovations to be made at one of Dyersburg's safe rooms, and the nomination of E-911 Operations Director Gloria Spence as a candidate for the TENA Regional Representative position.
