The Three Oaks Choctaws moved to 2-0 on the 2018 season on Thursday night as they took a 36-22 win over Lake County at home. Three Oaks took the lead early as Mason Patterson returned the opening kickoff to put the Choctaws on the board early. Week 1 is now in the books and am I the only one who enjoyed those early start times? Maybe the weather service will call for storms around 8 or 9 every Friday night between now and November and get us to the games just a little earlier as well as back home a little closer to our regular bedtimes. This would especially come in handy later in the year when the schedule includes trips to Millington, Bolivar and Clarksville...

Slow start hampers Choctaws in loss at Crockett

Dyer County was unable to overcome a sluggish start at Alamo on Friday night as the Choctaws fell behind by four touchdowns at the start of the second half and, though they rallied to cut the lead in half later in the third quarter, fell to Crockett County 49-29 in their 2018 regular season opener.

Water leak causes geyser near bypass

Members of the City of Dyersburg Water Department responded to a water leak along the Highway 51 Bypass Thursday afternoon. The issue occurred near the intersection of the bypass and Pioneer Road Extended.
