Lady Trojans beat Central to take third in District 13AA Tournament

After a less than ideal performance in the semifinals two days earlier, the Dyersburg girls bounced back from that disappointing loss to take third place in the District 13AA Tournament with a 51-28 win over Obion County Central on Saturday night in the Terry Glover Gymnasium at Dyersburg High School.

Lady Choctaws' dominant OT clinches 13AAA title

When the regular season district slate ended, it took a coin toss to finally decide the standings as the teams headed into the girls’ postseason tournament – with Dyer County winning the toss. Fittingly, on the final night of the Girls’ District 13AAA Tournament in Brighton on Monday night, it took an extra period for things to be decided as the Lady Choctaws dominated the extra frame to take a 73-63 win over the hosting Lady Cardinals.

Dyer County GOP to hold election of officers today

The Dyer County GOP will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 19, inside of the community room at the Dyersburg library in downtown Dyersburg. Chuckles and Chocolate event set for Thursday

The annual Life Choices – Dyersburg Chuckles and Chocolate event is set to occur Thursday evening, Feb. 21, at the Lannom Center in Dyersburg. The fourth annual fundraising event is slated to begin with a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. with the evening’s entertainment starting at 7 p.m.

Tabernacle Baptist Church hosts exhibit in recognition of Black History Month

Miller Alvin Chapman was born to Robert Edward Chapman and Mae Loraine Chapman on April 19, 1933. He devoted his life to Christ and over the later years of his life was a Church of Christ Preacher in Halls, Gates, Roellen. He was a founding member of Phillips Street Church of Christ. He met his beloved Virginia in High School in 1950. In 1952 he married the love of his life and remained married for 64 years. Together they raised 5 children, Randy, Brian, Kevin, Eric and Cindy...
